They say there's a reason for everything. I believe that. Oh how I miss you. How I'll never regret having known you. How I appreciate every moment we spent together. Every story you shared, Every time we laughed. All the times you were there to pick me up when I was down. Every dream you nurtured in me. Every hope you grew. Every lesson you instilled in me.
God divinely placed me in your life and He blessed me with the opportunity to have you in mine. How blessed I am to have been yours.
I'm everything I am today because you loved me. Love lived in every moment we shared. The good and the bad. You are now with the Man you taught me so lovingly about. Lord I thank you for this woman you allowed me to get to know. For the woman I so lovingly called Mom.
Here I now stand. In this place. My heart filled with sorrow that you're no longer here with me. Tears stain my eyes like mud on a white carpet. I cannot stop their flow.
I miss you Mom.
More than I expected to.
I watch as your body is placed into it's final resting place. Into the belly of the earth you're lowered, to rejoin the ground you walked on so powerfully. Your spirit lives on in Him. Your legacy lives on in me.
I love you mom.
Your memory will live on in the corridors of my mind. Your love will live on in my heart. Your lessons will live on in my life.
Thank You God for my mom. Thank You for loving me enough that you blessed me with her.
Thank you mom for loving me and always giving me the best of you.
I am the luckiest son in the world for having had you.
Everyone shall know that Love lived here and continues to live here.
I love you.
I miss you.
I'll never forget you.

Sometimes it takes a tragedy to hit before you actually stop doing what you said you'd stop doing at the beginning of the week, take stock of where your life is, really be honest about it and work at doing something about it.
Today was truly one of the hardest days I've had to experience in the last few years. Not because it was something happening directly to me but to someone I really care so much about it's not even funny. I felt like what happened to him was basically happening to me. And watching him break down like that broke me down too. How does one watch someone you care about go through such a tragedy and know that you're pretty much helpless to take that pain away.
But I do thank God because He always has a plan. What may be sudden and confusing to us is just another part of God's wonderful plan. Today I realized that this Dad of mine is ALWAYS in control. He never leaves us nor forsakes us at any time. His plan is always perfect. I really do love Him. He's just so amazing. So in tribute to my awesome God and Mama Rhoda, I've written this poem.
I knew me even before you were in your mothers womb
I knew all your days from beginning to the end
From the end to the beginning
You grew to know Me but I always seemed to teach you something new about Me.
My Spirit walked with you everyday
As you learned to rely on Me alone,
Your life started to make an impact you never expected it would
In the good and the bad, I am there
In joy and sorrow, I am there.
In success and set backs, You there
I love you with all of me.
You have fought the good fight, daughter.
You have finished your race.
You have accomplished all that I needed you to do.
Your son is safe in my hands
His journey with Me has only just begun
Be still and know that I am God
I am the God who created you from one word
I love you more than you know. My ways are not your ways nor are my thoughts your thoughts.
Trust in me
I know what I'm doing
I know where I'm taking you
The things that happen are all part of my plan for you
Do not doubt me
Desire to know Me as I know you
The more you know Me, the more I will show you
I will always fulfill the promises I have made for your life.
I am the Lord your God, in it's time I will do this
Remain in Me and I will remain in you.
Abide in My love always and you shall see the signs and wonders I'll perform in your life
Be of good cheer for I AM with you.

I Will Never Forget Those Eyes
I wrote this story a long time ago but I think it's really my best writing. It's a short story. Hope you enjoy it....
I remember it so well, I remember you, my love. I remember your first smile,
your laugh, your innocence- but what sticks in my mind like a bird to the sky, were your eyes. Those beautiful hazel eyes filled with love, hope and
pain. You were so young, yet your eyes held your beautiful story without giving away your secret. Screams had shattered the silence of that rainy night when I had found you. My heart beat was irregular and rapid as I approached the tattered, rain soaked box she had designated as your grave. I lifted you out of that dingy hell and held you close to me. You were cold and hungry, yet so beautiful. I was trapped in your eyes. Those piercingly beautiful eyes. I had found my baby. “It’s going to be alright,” I whispered into your ear. I named you Grace because God had kept you alive for me to find you. Mommy is here.
You were five years old. It had been a long, emotional, heart wrenching battle, but finally you were mine. Bless the judge that had granted me custody of my Gracie. My beautiful baby girl; you were not so much a baby anymore. Your eyes gained more brightness and beauty everyday as if the sun had been giving you pieces of sunshine every night that you slept.
Mommy loved you so much.
High school. Grace, my baby, you had to be careful; you had to make friends-no, you had to have fun. I prayed that you let your loving eyes show you your deepest dreams and lead you on the right path. You didn’t stray, you stayed pure. I could never tell you a lie my love, your eyes always penetrated to the truth they were too pure, like the first rays of the sun after a storm. You made mommy so proud. Mommy loves you to bits.
You looked so beautiful. My baby became a lady. I embraced you tightly as the tears stained our eyes like blood on crystals. You were going to your dance. I prayed that He took care of you that night. I had poured out my
soul into giving you everything you deserved that night. You were safe, Grace. You had fun. Mommy misses and loves you.
You left me on that fateful morning with so much determination in your eyes. You lovingly embraced me as if it were your last. Time had stopped, and was then thrown into fast forward as again you were in my arms. This time you
were not coming to life but it was cruelly leaving you. I watched the life leave your beautiful eyes as you joined the God who had brought you to me.
Mommy loves you to death.

Forever He reigns
I first heard this poem in Kari Jobe's song Forever. It's by a Poet called Brian Johnson. I don't know what he titled this poem but it's so powerful. I hope it hits you like it hit me.
Be blessed
“If there are words for Him then I
don’t have them.
See my brain has not yet reached
the point where it could form a
thought that could adequately
describe the greatness of my God.
And my lungs have not yet
developed the ability to release a
breath with enough agility to
breathe out the greatness of His
Love.
And my voice, see my voice is so
inhibited , restrained by human
limits that it’s hard to even sing the
praise up, you see, if there are
words for Him, then I don’t have
them.
My God, His Grace is remarkable,
mercies are innumerable, strength is
impenetrable, He is honorable,
accountable, favorable.
He’s unsearchable yet knowable,
indefinable, yet approachable,
indescribable, yet personal
He is beyond comprehension, further
than imagination, constant through
generations, King of every nation,
but if there are words for Him, then
I don’t have them
You see my words are few to try
and capture the ONE TRUE GOD,
using my vocabulary will never do,
but I use words as an expression,
an expression of worship to a
Savior, a Savior who is both worthy
and deserving of my praise, so I use
words.
My heart extols the Lord, blesses
His Name forever. He has won my
heart, captured my mind, and has
bound them both together. He has
defeated me in my rebellion,
conquered me in my sin, He has
welcomed me into His presence,
completely invited me in. He has
made Himself the object of my
sight, flooding me with mercies in
the morning, drowning me with
Grace in the night, but if there are
words for Him, then I don’t have
them.
But what I do have is GOOD NEWS,
for my God knew that manmade
words would never do, for words are
just tools that we use to point to
the truth.
So He sent His Son Jesus Christ as
THE WORD, LIVING PROOF, He is
THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD,
THE FIRST BORN OF ALL
CREATION, FOR BY HIM ALL
THINGS WERE CREATED, GIVING
NOTHINGNESS, FORMATION.
AND BY HIS WORD HE SUSTAINS IN
THE POWER OF HIS NAME. FOR HE
IS BEFORE ALL THINGS AND ABOVE
ALL THINGS HE REIGNS. HOLY IS
HIS NAME!
SO PRAISE HIM FOR HIS LIFE! THE
WAY HE PERSERVERED IN STRIFE.
THE HUMBLE SON OF GOD
BECOMING THE PERFECT
SACRIFICE.
PRAISE HIM FOR HIS DEATH! THAT
HE WILLINGLY STOOD IN OUR
PLACE THAT HE LOVINGLY
ENDURED THE GRAVE THAT HE
BATTLED OUR ENEMY, AND ON THE
THIRD DAY ROSE IN VICTORY.
HE IS EVEYTHING THAT WAS
PROMISED.
PRAISE HIM AS THE RISEN KING.
LIFT YOUR VOICE AND SING, FOR
ONE DAY HE WILL RETURN FOR
US, AND WE WILL FINALLY BE
UNITED WITH OUR SAVIOR FOR
ENTERNITY! ETERNITY!
SO IT IS NOT JUST WORDS THAT I
PROCLAIM, FOR MY WORDS POINT
TO THE WORD, AND THE WORD
HAS A NAME, HOPE HAS A NAME,
JOY HAS A NAME, PEACE HAS A
NAME, LOVE HAS A NAME, AND
THAT NAME IS JESUS CHRIST!
PRAISE HIS NAME FOREVER!!!!!!!!"

Thankful
What a year! Like wow. I remember starting this year as if it were yesterday but it wasn't.
You know looking back at 2014, I'm grateful for how God had kept not just me but my family too. When I say family I'm also including those amazing people God has allowed me to meet. The friends that I now consider family.
The things that have happened this year have been somewhat surreal. I didn't think I'd make it through but I did and God has been so faithful.
I'm so EXCITED about 2015!!! It's a new season. Another opportunity to make my mark on the world. God has something big planned for me. Who am I not to trust Him? My Father knows what's best
Thank you God for being God. For loving me, keeping me and never letting me go.
LET'S GOOOOOO!!!

You know you've grown
I was thinking about this the other day during on of my gratitude sessions and it's really helped me know where I am and what I still need to work on.
You know you've grown up not only by the big obvious things in your life but by all the small things that you sometimes fail to notice. Below I've listed things that I noticed in myself.
You know you've grown when:
~It's no longer about "I" but about "we"
~ I no longer compare myself and my life to someone else's because God didn't create me in the image of others but in His own perfect image
~I've realised that without God and His perfect love, I wouldn't be here today
~ I appreciate all the people that have walked through my life and left an impression. Whether good or bad they all taught me something valuable
~ I can forgive a person unconditionally without them asking for it
~I can forgive myself fully and understand that I will make mistakes
~ I no longer worry about tomorrow and miss out on today but love today and the moment I'm in. I appreciate the small moments
~ My priorities have changed along with my mindset towards life
~ what used to make me cry now makes me laugh
~ what I thought was important isn't important anymore because I've found what truly matters to me.
~ I live in the now and what is than the tomorrow and "what if".
We all go through things but at the end of the day, we've gone THROUGH them. We don't remain in them. The difference I've found between people that have true joy and just live off one happy moment to the next is the fact that joyful people are anchored in God. Instead of dwelling what they've been through, they grow from their experiences.
Every experience is a teacher to help you grow. Embrace it all. You can only be better tomorrow for overcoming and learning from today.
Trust in God
Trust in His plan for you.
He's already given you all the tools for life
Discover them and live the life meant for you.

GUARD YOUR HEART AND
MIND
If you can get this,
this will change your life…
One of the keys to
success is to be able to guard your heart. Now, usually when someone says guard
your heart they are talking about keeping yourself from heartbreak. Although this
is important (as long as you don’t go overboard… but that’s another
conversation) that isn’t what I’m talking about. When we are born into this
world we enter with such a pure heart but as we grow older, situations,
circumstances and people tend to make us change. Now I know it is nearly
impossible to keep a childlike innocence in our hearts all of our lives,
especially after people have betrayed, lied, mistreated and downright been the
devil. Trust me when I tell you, I have seen it all. I have been there big
time. If you’re like me, you’ve been there too. But if this is your situation I
want you to know two very important things about those moments of heartbreak
Number one, learn the
lesson in it. See how it will work together for your good, because it will.
Once you do, it’s easier to forgive and move on. Secondly, and this is just as
important as the first one, you must not let that person or people change your
heart. What do I mean by that? Well, if you are a giver and someone you have given
to misuses your gift; don’t stop giving… just give to someone else. If you are
a person that loves people and someone you love hates you, don’t stop loving…
love someone else. Eventually you will find people who appreciate your kindness
and your love. Remember this; lots of people have been conditioned to not be
able to accept purity of heart. They can’t take it in. most times it’s not even
their fault. It’s just what has happened to them on their journey in life. But
don’t let them turn you into one of them. There will be a lot of people in your
life who will not appreciate your pureness of heart. If they hurt you, don’t
stop being you… just be you with someone else.
Why is this so
important? Because God blesses you according to what is in your heart. If you
are being kind, giving, loving and sharing because it is in your heart and you
are not looking for anything in return, then that is a heart that God wants to
bless. If you change who you are because you’ve been hurt, then you’ve changed
the thing that God wants to bless you according to, and that is your heart. The
people who hurt you are not worth that. You can lose everything that you have,
but don’t let anybody change your heart
